Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate Students

To be eligible for invitation to join Upsilon Pi Epsilon, an undergraduate student must:

Have an accumulated grade point average of at least 3.0 for both general scholarship and Computer Science.
Have completed 64 total credit hours.
Have completed 18 credit hours of Computer Science classes.
Have a class stading in the top 35%.

Undergraduate Transfer Students

To be eligible for invitation to join Upsilon Pi Epsilon, an undergraduate student must:

Have been in residence at UMaine for at least a year.

Unless they transfer during their senior year, in this case the residency requirement is reduced to one semester.

Have met all requirements of general undergraduate eligibility.

Graduate Students

To be eligible for invitation to join Upsilon Pi Epsilon, a graduate student must:

Have completed at least one semester at UMaine.
Have an accumulated grade point average of at least 3.5.
Have completed half of the credit hours required for the master's degree (15 hours).

It is the responsibility of the Committee on Eligibility to evaluate the scholarship ratings of prospective candidates. Students invited to join Upsilon Pi Epsilon represent the very best in their respective classes.
