The WISR9 Workshop for Institutionalizing Software Reuse
The 9th in a series of workshops started here at the University of Maine in 1987. This past workshop was held at the University of Texas at Austin on January 7-9, 1999. We have also been managing the WISR archive of position papers, used nationally by researchers in the field of software reuse.
Spring, 2008 Courses.
Course information for the Spring, 2008 semester.

Current Interests:

The PAL Programming and Adaptive Learning Project
The PAL project is a multi-faceted project aimed at understanding how programming plays a role in adaptive learning. This project is a collaboration with Seymour Papert and the Learning Barn in Blue Hill, Maine.
PAL Maine Starlogo Communities Project
A sub-project of the Computer Science Department's PAL Project, this was originally a NYNEX funded effort to construct a collaborative website for the development of Starlogo models. Such models foster decentralized, emergent thinking. The goal is to have middle and high school students contribute and share models and other decentralized ideas through the site.
The Santa Fe Institute Starlogo Community of Learners Summer '98 Workshop
A two week workshop for high school students and teachers, collaboratively developed by the MIT Media Lab Epistemology and Learning Group, The University of Maine Computer Science Department, the Santa Fe Institute, and 21 Santa Fe area high school students and teachers.
Selected papers
A selection of published and unpublished papers and technical reports.
WebCT
An integrated web-based course tools environment, sometimes the home of my current courses.
Firstclass on the Web
A web-based environment providing most Firstclass functionality.
The WISR Workshops
The Workshops for Institutionalizing Software Reuse, held annually since 1987 and originating in Maine, are documented here.
Reuse links.
These are a few hastily generated reuse related links. Notice that they "degenerate" fairly quickly into software engineering/emergent systems/other topic links.
The Upward Bound Program
This past summer ('98) the focus was on the study of illusion using the scientific method.
