COS 430 SPRING 2009 HW #10 DUE THURSDAY 4/09/09 In general, for the "Activities", be sure to provide enough information about what you saw to convince us that you actually did it. For example, if an activity says that you look at a title page, you should write down the title that you saw there. If the activity says that there is something humorous on a page, you should tell us what was humorous about it. Alternatively, you can provide images from your sessions if that is easier for you. Thus, you can include a screen shot or printout from a webpage, etc. Remember, the key idea is that you convince us that you did the activity. STRUCTURED HOMEWORK 1. Do multiple-choice questions 1-20 on pp. 265-266 of EH. 2. Do Activities 10-2, 10-5 and 10-6 of EH, but do them for the web server that you have running on your server. FREE-FORM HOMEWORK 1. Read Chapters 20-21 of PS and write at least 500 words describing what you think are the 3 most significant points made in each chapter. 2. Notice that this homework is due on Thursday of next week so you can include your Cyberwar I presentation on your CD. SYSTEM HOMEWORK 1. Write and submit your weekly report. Be sure to include a section on your team. In that section we expect you to grade the performance of your team members. You should assign a grade for effort, punctuality, and results. You can grade your Captain on his leadership abilities. Captains can grade their team members on whether they carry out their responsibilities.Be sure to fully participate in all team activities and in Cyberwar II both on offense and defense. Include documentation on the activities from Chapter 10 of EH on this CD in the appropriate sections. 2. You will be graded now on the percent of uptime that your server has for the various services. 3. Be sure to try some exploits against machines on PirateNet(c). BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR SYSTEM HOMEWORK ON 2 CDs -- one for me and one for Larry Whitsel.
